The Problem in Southern Nevada
Across the Las Vegas Valley, student athletes face a system that is stacked against them. High school rosters have limited spots. Athletes who get cut — many with tremendous potential — have few places to turn. Club sports exist to fill that gap, but the cost of club programs in Southern Nevada puts them out of reach for a significant portion of families.
The politics and monopoly dynamics within the region's club sports landscape make it even harder for new coaches and programs to emerge and compete. The result is a system where your economic status, not your ability or desire, determines your access to development.
Why Athlete's Village Exists
Athlete's Village was founded in 2023 to address this disparity head-on. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our mission is to advocate for student athletes who may have been cut from their high school teams, face economic challenges, or simply want to develop their sport without the burden of traditional club costs.
From the beginning, we have reached out to high schools all over the Las Vegas Valley to identify and recruit quality coaches who share our mission. These coaches bring real credentials, real experience, and a genuine commitment to developing the whole athlete, not just winning trophies.
Where We Are Today
Since founding, Athlete's Village has launched its first program: the Vegas Venom, a junior volleyball organization for boys and girls across Southern Nevada. Volleyball was our starting point, but it will not be our finish line. We are actively working to expand to additional sports, and we are looking for coaches, volunteers, donors, and community partners to help us build a village that truly serves every student athlete.
